I took a shine to photography around two years ago. The only reason i wanted to start shooting myself was because, when i was building a new website for a client, i would have to go and employ a professional photographer to cover all the angles. This was obviously needed to get the right shots to promote the clients business and to also help my websites look as professional as they can be.
I took place in an evening course along with my other ongoing qualifications and activities. I took out a two year A Level course at Cheadle and Marple College which covered everything from SLR tuitions, to the way in which you can integrate art into your work. Personally though, the course was fantastic to get me started with an SLR but didn’t dig deep enough into the technical aspects and ticks of using your SLR, so i dug into the manual and went out to achieve shots in certain ways and then learnt by my mistakes. By doing this, i found myself not needing to look back at notes to altar the ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture settings, but just knowing to do them without thinking.
I started off with a Nikon D80, this digital SLR really got me going. I went to various places shooting with this camera and came out with some great images. However towards the second year, a friend was in need of an SLR. By that point i had got into HDR photography and wanted a camera that could do 9 frame bracketing. So as a result of this i sold my D80 and the two lenses that came with it, and bought myself a Nikon D300 body and started buying new lenses for it. Below is my current setup and links
